5 ways to fundraise for your retreat

1. START AN ONLINE FUNDRAISER

Crowdfunding has never been easier than now. Whether on good ole Go Fund Me or another crowdfunding platform that let's you offer friends and family donation tiers, it doesn't hurt to create a profile telling people why they should support your personal growth trip. Need an example? Take a look through Kiki, Jahmie, Lindsay, or Divinity's Go Fund Me page for inspiration!

2. OFFER A SERVICE

Can you sing? Dance? Tell jokes? Hop on IG or FB Live and share your talents with people who already support you. Promote ahead of time and kindly ask those who tune in to support your trip. Not creative? Mow a lawn, run an errand, edit resumes, teach music theory - anything that can serve someone else generally is a good fundraiser.

3. HOST A KARAOKE OR MOVIE NIGHT

Rally your talented friends together and put on a show or karaoke night. Ask your performers to donate their time and charge a reasonable rate for people to come see it! Movie night is a lazier but equally efficient way to bring different people together for a fun night.

4. CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET

It's never a bad time to minimize your belongings. Go through your things and see if there's anything that you can sell. ie: Clothes on eBay or poshmark, old electronics to pawn shops, etc. Even if you only make $50, it's more than you started with! If you find it hard to let go of your things practice Aparigraha (non attachment) and consider it a pre-retreat cleanse!

5. HOST A _____ -A-THON

Whether it's a dance-a-thon, pie-eating-a-thon, or cartwheel-a-thon, plan a fun night with a unifying competitive activity! Get sponsors involved by asking them to pledge a donation amount depending on the ____a-thon's engagement.
