Who are you?

Hey I’m Shaelle! I help people observe their thought patterns and strengthen their physical body through stillness and movement. I began to take my yoga practice seriously three years ago at a very low point in my life. In what seemed like a split second, I lost a corporate job that I poured my heart into which left my body and mind feeling weak and empty. Yoga taught me what my habits are in moments of loss, pain and discomfort. Most importantly, it taught me that I have the ability to heal myself through those moments. I want to work with disciplined individuals who may have never experienced the magic of yoga but who are eager to add balance, flexibility and strength into their daily lives. Namasté!

What does Culture mean to you?

Culture is the best part of a community. It's the food, the music, the dances, etc. Sometimes people use culture to hang on to harmful traditions but I think you can always redefine it so that it suites you.

Who are you?

My name is Carys. I’m a music producer and cannabis yoga teacher based in LA. Born in Texas and raised in a border town, I have always stayed in tune with my Mexican and Lebanese roots. My mission is to help others develop a mutually beneficial relationship between their bodies and minds. Gentle and restorative yoga is a crucial element of any yogi’s routine. I believe the key to living an elevated life lies in connecting to what is already within you. See you on the mat!

What does Culture mean to you?

I feel that culture is an integral part of the human experience, and therefore important for everyone. Culture helps us to identify who we are at our core, and it is also the legacy of our people. Culture is any group’s way of saying, “This is who we are, this is why we’re different and this is why it is important to pass it on to other generations.”

Who are you?

Drew Muse’s passion for yoga began when she was diagnosed with scoliosis. After practicing yoga for almost 8 years she decided to become a yoga teacher. Miraculously, the universe provided an opportunity she won a free training! As a teacher dissatisfied with the popularity yoga trends, Drew began refocusing her practice. Body Bend Yoga teaches the importance of remaining intentional while doing continuous work to discover one's’ true self. A Trauma Recovery Yoga workshop inspired Drew to branch out and focus on making yoga more accessible to all. She was a  teacher for drug recovery centers, women's shelters and to the youth in low income neighborhoods.

What does Culture mean to you?

Culture helps me learn and understand myself, I love being black and I love all parts of black culture. I developed my culture by learning more about my culture and allowing others to teach me about theirs.
